Should Christians vote in world affairs?

You are in the world not of the world

A controversial issue that pops up its head every now and then.

The answer always comes back, why not? God wants me to vote, but does He? We feel, perhaps it's our birth right to vote for things, after all it is a democratic thing we should do. We could say, well yes it was, but now you are a Christian why do you feel the need to vote on worldly issues. What does the Bible say.

Should Christians vote for political parties.? The Biblical answer is no, and this is why;

Romans 13: 1-7; clearly sates that it God that puts authority in its place, He doesn't need our help, that it s for the world to ponder not the saint; "Joh 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." We are in the world but nor of the world, Saints have no dealings with the world, "Mat 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Mat 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." Here Jesus denounces the world, for the love of the flesh is of no reward to the saint for it will perish, why then vote for something that will pass away and has nothing in common with the kingdom of God. "Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." A saints citizenship is not here on earth but in heaven, a saint does not have dual nationality, for you are Christs "Gal 3:29".

Christians do not have rights, they were not taken from you, you gave them up freely "Luk 9:23", you are not your own, "1Co 6:19".

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Rom 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: Rom 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Rom 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. Rom 13:6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Rom 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour"

Division in the church; Christian unity is the faith in God, the world puts its faith in Satan, which is divided; Mat 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: Mat 12:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? Nations are divided because of political differences, it does not bring unity to a nation, not even stability, and we do get the governments we deserve.

Being competitive is not a Christianity

God has not chosen His children to be competitive, we have one God in who we trust. He favours no one over another

What Christians don't want to know

If a Christian happens to live in a country where voting is mandatory, then he has to follow that law as God has put that authority in its place.

In the world, but not of the world.

Joh 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

You will never find justice in this world
