Baptized in the Water: Becoming a member of God's family

Baptized in the Water, written by bestselling author Glenys Nellist, is a beautifully illustrated picture book that celebrates baptism in all its varying forms.

Great book with different views on baptism. Even if you don’t 100% agree with all the different views, it’s a great opportunity for conversation and explanation.

This book is beautifully done and includes a spot to record the child being baptized's name, who it is from and the baptism date.

I have always needed a book like this in my ministry setting. I’ve always needed a baptism book to present to families to validate all forms of baptism and a book that puts the focus on God’s grace in each act of baptism

UNDERSTANDING Water Baptism

I love David's teaching. I was going to start with the Normal Christian Birth, but grabbed this shorter guide instead. It answered many of my questions quickly. I will also be reading the other hook now for sure (a more indepth study)

Very easy to understand, high recommend.
My friend also use this book to teach they are kids. Thank you so much

In some ways this book falls a little short compared to two or three other books of Pawson's that I have read: it is shorter and can often seem to read rather like a collection of 'proof texts' collated into sections, given the number of Bible references throughout.

Baptism: Three Views (Spectrum Multiview Book Series)

4.4 Gold star rating

It's a great book. I recommend it to any who are interested in this subject and who do not mind being challenged as to the the Biblical basis for their own traditions.

The Christian church confesses "one baptism." But the church's answers to how, whom and when to baptize, and even what it means or does, are famously varied.

This Spectrum Multiview volume provides a forum for thoughtful proponents of three principal evangelical views to state their case, respond to the others, and then provide a summary response and statement.

Baptism in the Early Church: History, Theology, and Liturgy in the First Five Centuries Paperback –

4.8 Gold stars

4.4 Good reads

This magisterial volume is a comprehensive survey of the doctrine and practice of baptism in the first five centuries of Christian history, arranged geographically within chronological periods. Baptism in the Early Church covers the antecedents to Christian baptism and traces the history of Christian doctrine and practice from the New Testament through the writings of the church fathers of the fourth and fifth centuries.

Ferguson's thorough study points to the central importance of baptism in the early church. Many blessings were attributed to baptism, but the two earliest and most consistently mentioned are forgiveness of sins and the reception of the Holy Spirit; faith and repentance were necessary in order to receive these benefits.

The water of baptism which God meant to unite us has become the water that divides us.

The topic of baptism does not have to divide us – it can be one of the Bible doctrines that submerge us in a common relationship with our Lord Jesus.

I don't agree with the authors position, but if you want to know what Restoration movement teaches, this book will teach that position.

This is a thoughtful, Scriptural analysis of baptism. For those desiring a good conscience about baptism,...

I was searching for books which present a study on baptism in the new testament with clear scriptural backing, while showing the interconnected picture that God lays out about what baptism is all about....
